The International Journal of African Language and Media Studies (IJALMS), a peer-reviewed, open-access journal hosted at the University of Bamenda, Republic of Cameroon, is now accepting submissions for its March 2026 edition (Volume 6, Issue 1). IJALMS is committed to advancing rigorous scholarship in African languages, media, and communication studies, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, and promoting innovative research with local and global impact.

This issue aims to amplify voices at the forefront of academic inquiry, and invites the submission of original research articles, theoretical papers, or methodological studies that are not under consideration elsewhere. By publishing with IJALMS, authors engage with a global readership and participate in a rigorous, fair, and supportive review process, where manuscripts are evaluated for both technical merit and their capacity to advance discourse and practice across disciplines.

Title: Concise and informative
Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing objectives, methodology, key findings, and implications
Keywords: 4–6 relevant terms
Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results/Findings, Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendations
References: APA 7th edition citation style

Formatting Guidelines

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
Spacing: Double-spaced
Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm)
Article length: Original research 5,000–8,000 words; short communications 2,000–4,000 words
Tables and figures: Numbered consecutively, cited in text; captions below figures and above tables

Ethical Considerations

Manuscripts must be original and unpublished
Plagiarism check using Turnitin (maximum similarity 20%) is mandatory
Proper consent required for studies involving human participants

Peer Review Process

Double-blind peer review
Manuscripts evaluated on originality, scholarly quality, methodological rigor, and contribution to the field
Authors may be asked to revise and resubmit

Copyright and Licensing

Published under an open-access license
Authors retain copyright while granting IJALMS the right to publish and distribute the work
